The ORP sensor measures the ability of a solution to act as an oxidizing or reducing agent. ORP stands for oxidation-reduction potential also known as Redox Potential.
ORP sensor values are used as well as pH values to determine water quality.
For example in the water of a pool usually has a pH of 7.2 to 7.6, the ORP sensor should have values above 700mV to neutralize the unwanted organisms.
In contrast to aquatic ecosystems, this value should be lower to support aquatic life.
In general, ORP sensor values when exceeding 400mV are dangerous for aquatic life.
